Kannauj Horror: Minor Madrasa Student Allegedly Kidnapped, Assaulted, and Held Hostage for Days
A shocking case from Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district has sparked outrage after a 14-year-old madrasa student was allegedly kidnapped, held hostage for nearly three days, and sexually assaulted by multiple accused persons.
According to reports, the incident took place in the Hammalipura area, where the minor girl had been studying at a local madrasa for the past year. Her family alleged that the accused, identified as Deepak alias Deepu, lured the girl by falsely telling her that her mother was calling her. Trusting him, the girl reportedly followed him before allegedly being forcibly taken into a house and locked inside.
The family and madrasa management searched continuously for the girl after she went missing on May 3. According to the victim’s father, the girl remained captive for nearly two days while desperate efforts were being made to locate her.
The victim later alleged that during the period of captivity, Deepu, along with two other accused identified as Sanjeev and Dheeraj, physically tortured and sexually assaulted her. Reports also claim that she was allegedly forced to consume alcohol after being told it was a soft drink.
In a disturbing development, the accused allegedly attempted to portray the crime as a marriage. The victim was reportedly found with sindoor applied to her hair parting and traditional markings placed on her feet, which the family described as an attempt to stage a forced wedding narrative involving the minor girl.
The breakthrough in the case came when the victim reportedly managed to access a mobile phone and contacted her family. During the call, she informed them that she could see the madrasa building from the location where she was being held. Family members and local residents then began searching nearby houses and eventually found the girl in a distressed condition on the rooftop of the accused’s house.
Police were informed through the emergency helpline, after which the victim was taken to a hospital for medical treatment. Officials stated that a case has been registered under serious charges, including provisions of the POCSO Act. One accused has reportedly been detained, while the main accused is said to be absconding.
The incident has triggered widespread anger on social media, with many demanding strict action and fast-track justice in the case. Authorities have stated that legal proceedings are underway and further investigation is ongoing.
