Our Competition Should Be China, Not a Failed State

People get triggered very easily when India is compared with stronger economies. But the same people feel comfortable when comparisons are made with weaker or struggling countries. This mindset is not helping the country grow. It creates a false sense of pride and hides real problems that need attention.

The truth is simple. If we want real progress, we must compare ourselves with countries that are ahead of us, not behind us. Comparing with weaker nations may give temporary satisfaction, but it does not push us to improve. It only keeps us stuck.

India is a large and capable country with huge potential. But potential alone does not matter. What matters is how we use it. Countries like China have moved fast in manufacturing, infrastructure, technology, and exports. They focused on long term growth, discipline, and execution. That is why they are far ahead today.

When people avoid comparing India with stronger countries, it shows discomfort with reality. Growth requires facing uncomfortable truths. If roads, cities, public systems, and industries are better in other countries, then we must study and learn from them instead of reacting emotionally.

Obsession with what is happening in other struggling countries is a distraction. It wastes time, energy, and focus. A serious nation does not build its future by constantly looking down. It builds by looking up and aiming higher.

India should set its benchmarks with countries that are performing better. China, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, and Singapore are examples of nations that have shown strong growth in different sectors. Each of them has something to learn from. Some are strong in manufacturing, some in governance, some in urban planning, and some in economic policies.

If India wants to compete globally, it must think globally.

That means improving infrastructure, strengthening education, boosting manufacturing, supporting innovation, and building efficient systems. It also means reducing corruption, improving accountability, and focusing on long term policies instead of short term narratives.

Real nationalism is not about feeling superior without reason. It is about making the country stronger in reality. It is about honest comparison, learning, and continuous improvement. False pride may feel good, but it slows down progress.

People must understand that criticism is not anti national. It is necessary for growth. If we want India to become a global leader, then we must raise our standards and expectations.

The goal should be clear. Compete with the best. Learn from the best. Become the best.
