AHILYANAGAR (AHMEDNAGAR), MAHARASHTRA:
Swati Vikram Bhosale, a 39-year-old resident of ahilyanagar, was arrested by the Kotwali Police after allegedly throwing a piece of meat in the Brahmin Galli area of Maliwada on the night of Bakri Eid.The incident sparked outrage among local residents and led to protests by several Hindutva organizations, which demanded immediate action against those responsible.
According to police officials, an extensive investigation was launched following the incident. Investigators reportedly examined more than 150 CCTV camera recordings from different locations across the city before identifying the suspect. Based on the evidence collected during the probe, police took Swati Vikram Bhosale into custody.
Authorities are now focused on determining the motive behind the act and whether the accused acted independently or at the direction of others. Police officials stated that all angles are being investigated, including the possibility that the incident was intended to create communal tension and disturb public harmony.
Investigators are also examining whether any individuals or groups may have influenced, assisted, or encouraged the act. Officials have not ruled out the possibility of a larger conspiracy and said further action will depend on the evidence uncovered during the ongoing investigation.
The case has reignited concerns about attempts to exploit religious sensitivities and provoke social unrest. Community leaders have appealed for peace and urged citizens not to spread rumours or inflammatory content while the investigation continues.
Police have assured the public that anyone found involved in planning, supporting, or facilitating the incident will face appropriate legal action under the law.
